Terms of service

Version draft-2026-10

Draft. The parts in [square brackets] are filled in before SLBot opens to the public, and the final text is reviewed. You will be asked to accept the final version.

1. Who we are

SLBot is run by [OPERATOR NAME], [ADDRESS / REGISTRATION], [COUNTRY] ("we"). Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL]. SLBot is not made by, endorsed by or connected to Linden Lab. Second Life is a trademark of Linden Research, Inc.

2. The service

SLBot keeps your Second Life characters ("bots") online for you: it logs them in with the details you give, takes them to a location, sits them on an object, reconnects them, and lets you read and send nearby chat, IMs and group messages from a web page.

3. Your account

4. Your Second Life accounts

5. What you may not do

6. Payment

[Prices, trial, payment methods, renewals and refunds are added here when paid plans start. A bot is logged out when its paid period ends.]

7. Availability

We work to keep SLBot running all the time (target 99.5% a month), but we cannot promise it: Second Life itself, the internet and our servers can fail, and planned maintenance is announced on the site 24 hours before. Bots are logged in again automatically when that is possible.

8. Your data

How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy. You can download all of it and delete your account at any time from the Account page.

9. Suspension and ending

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or that Linden Lab asks us to stop serving. Where possible we tell you why first.

10. Liability

SLBot is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost Second Life items, money (L$), land, groups, accounts or income, or for actions Linden Lab takes against your accounts. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the event. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law.

11. Changes

When these terms change, we show the new version and ask you to accept it before you continue. If you do not agree, you can download your data and delete your account.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY]. Disputes go to the courts of [CITY / COUNTRY], unless consumer law gives you the right to use the courts where you live.
